Abercrombie & Fitch Aftershave & Men's Fragrance

Abercrombie & Fitch is a leading American-born fashion and fragrance retailer for men that targets a very specific, trendy, modern, upcoming cross section of the population – namely those who are 18 – 22 years old. The company was originally established in 1892 in New York City and has since become renowned worldwide with a total of 1055 stores spanning all over Europe, the majority being in the USA and most recently an expansion into Asia, with stores in Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Abercrombie & Fitch have 3 concept brands encompassing several areas of fashion and fragrance, apart from its birth name that are referred to as subsidiaries amongst men's clothing but in fact operate under the same umbrella: Hollister Co. is the largest of the brands and is based on a 'southern Californian' image and is aimed at teenagers 14 through 18, with prices lowers than those of its parent brand and 578 stores worldwide. Abercrombie Kids was introduced in 1998 with the aim of attracting a younger audience to the brand – it currently has 160 stores internationally and targets consumers aged 7 to 14. The final part of the umbrella is made up by Gilly Hicks, who is known as the 'cheeky cousin' of Abercrombie & Fitch and who's theme was originally inspired by the phrase “Down Under” and currently has 28 stores worldwide that offers lounge wear and underwear to women for ages 18 and up.

The signature scent of Abercrombie & Fitch 'Fierce' was first launched in 2002 and is a leading men's fragrance. As we many areas with this brand, the scent does not come without controversy – in 2009 Abercrombie & Fitch filed a law suit against Beyonce Knowles when she launched her scent 'Sasha Fierce', claiming that it infringed the trademark of its very own aftershave 'Fierce'. Other popular scents include 41 Cologne (2007), Colden (2009), the newest fragrance Abercrombie HOT (2013) and the re-branded original cologne Woods from 1990.

Abercrombie & Fitch have never been shy of the spotlight, often sparking negativity and this is no less true for their marketing and branding campaigns. Unlike most other men's fashion labels, Abercrombie & Fitch will only use models who work for them and have a lengthy selection process for the privilege. Famous successful models from the past have included Channing Tatum (US Actor), Jeremy Bloom (11 times gold medallist in men's freestyle skiing), Brandon Jones (US Actor) and Tom Welling (US Actor).
