Nina Ricci Aftershave & Men's Fragrance

The fashion house Nina Ricci is also famous for its legendary fragrance collection going back to the release of the iconic women's fragrance L'Air du Temps in the late 1940s. Although the company mainly produces scents marketed for a female audience, they have released a number of high-quality men's perfumes.
The fragrance collection was first introduced when Nina Ricci's brother Robert started playing with the idea of releasing a Nina Ricci fragrance. This idea soon took form and in no time he helped the couture house to an excellent reputation in the art of perfumery. The first male scent wasn't introduced until the 1960s, when the aromatic green Signoricci (1965) entered the market. It combines citrus fruit with a floral heart and aromatic base including notes of tonka, civet, oak moss, cedar, amber, vetiver and labdanum. It was followed by the clean citrus scent Signoricci 2 (1976) and the two strong 80s scents Phileas (1984) and Ricci Club (1989). More recently the company introduced the woody chypre fragrance Mémoire D'Homme (2002) which was created in a collaborative effort by Christine Nagel and Rosendo Mateu. With a grapefruit and liquorice base on a spicy middle note of ginger and nutmeg and a woody base note of amber, vetiver and cedar the fragrance is an elegant and classic scent for any occasion.
Nina Ricci was taken over by the Spanish company PUIG in 1998. Although the Ricci family has not been actively involved in the company since the death of Robert Ricci in 1988, the love for fragrances appears to run in their ancestor's blood: Robert's grandson Romano Ricci released his own successful fragrance brand by the name of Juliette Has A Gun in 2005.
