Together with his wife Maria, internationally known Nordic Combination champion
Willy Bogner sen. established the renowned sportswear company and family business Bogner before WWII. The professional skier started importing ski-wear and sporting goods from Norway to Germany in the early 30s. When his wife joined the company, the pair developed their first original designs which were quickly noticed by the international press. From the mid 50s on the name Bogner would be associated with elegant high quality sportswear. It was Maria Bogner who introduced the now legendary B-accessoire, which famously adorns all Bogner products until this day. It was also featured in the unveiling ceremony of the newly refurbished Brandenburg Gate, which was revealed by Willy Bogner jun. In 2002.

With the passion for winter sports running in the family, the younger Willy Bogner would become even more famous than his father and went on to partake in the Olympic Games of 1960 and 1964. With his skiing career on ice, he finally joined the family business full-time in the 1970s. Around then the young entrepreneur also met his wife Sonîa, a Brazilian model he got introduced to at a Bogner photo-shoot. The pair started to focus more on international markets such as the USA and after the death of Willy Bogner sen. They took over the management of the successful business. Sonîa Bogner was appointed head of design in 1979 and has since released her own successful collection of elegant womenswear.

Another one of Willy Bogner jun. Passions is his internationally acclaimed work in film. He has filmed and directed a number of skiing films and his expertise in the field earned him the position as camera man for several of the infamous skiing scenes in 4 James Bond films.

The first Bogner fragrance for women was introduced in 1985. Bogner Woman No. 1 (1985) is a floral fragrance which was released accompanying the male scent from the same year. Weirdly, the signature scent Bogner Women (1990) followed 5 years later with a bouquet of floral and fruity notes. The female version of Fire & Ice (2011) is a fresh floral-fruity scent inspired by the attraction of contradictions. The most famous fragrance from Sonîa Bogner's line is the oriental floral Sonia Bogner Now (1991) which combines floral notes and amber with notes of citrus fruit. As part of the Bogner Heritage collection released in the Olympic year 2012, Bogner introduced Heritage Edition for Women (2012). The bottle features a vintage Bogner ski-wear campaign image from the 60s and is held in a bright pink matching the colours of the female athletes representing Germany at the Winter Olympics 2012.
