Vera Wang is an American fashion designer, famous for revolutionizing the 80s bridal gowns and becoming a pioneer of the “modern”, sophisticated wedding dress. She is still considered the best fashion designer for bridal gowns, both in terms of elegance and price (her collections are affordable by anyone as they can range from $600-$1,400).

Before becoming a fashion designer, Vera Wang was a professional figure skater, but when she wasn’t selected for the Olympics, she decided to enter the world of fashion. She became the youngest Vogue editor at the age of 23 but then left in 1985 and joined Ralph Lauren as a design director. After two years at Ralph Lauren she started her own company and opened her designer salon at New York’s Carlyle Salon Hotel. She designed bridal gowns for various celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Garner, Victoria Beckham and Kate Hudson. Her wedding dresses have also been featured in different Hollywood films and TV-series.

Vera Wang’s most popular brand extensions include eye-wear, shoes and fragrances. Her first perfume for women was released in 2002 and its male companion was launched two years later. Vera Wang’s bestseller is Princess, which has been released in 2006. It has a floral-sweet scent with a twist of sour, provided by the pink guava fruit. All of Vera Wang’s fragrances have a floral and fruity note however they all have their own particular twist. In the case of Glam Princess, the pear and orange base is then sweetened by marshmallow and ambrette seeds. Similarly, Lovestruck Floral Rush has a heart of white freesia and pink passion flower, contrasted with a top scent of champagne and pink pepper.
